Kitchen Re-Paint

So last week with the help of my mom, I repainted our kitchen. I was so tired of blah beige and went for Mossy Rock by Behr at Home Depot. Green is supposed to bring calm and peace {just what I need in my kitchen}

Chalk Board Frame

I picked this frame up at a yard sale for $3.00 so I could give it a face lift and make a chalkboard frame. My son looks pretty cute in the frame but his arms may get tired just hanging around like that!

First I cleaned all the gunk off the frame and then painted it with some “Eden” green spray paint by Rustoleum that I picked up at Home Depot.

I then cut a piece of wood to fit the inside of the frame and painted that with black chalk board paint.

Once it dried, I put it in the frame and secured it with nails. Walaa ….. a place for me to put some words of encouragement for our family of 5!

Exciting Events This Week!

So this week has been exciting so far. Gavin lost his first tooth and Nash started preschool. These boys continue to amaze me in their own special ways.

This tooth has been loose since October and Gavin has been so excited to loose it! Here is how the story of the first tooth went down in the Dolan house. Jeff pulled Gavin's tooth out at bedtime and Nash ran into our room to tell me "something exciting just happened mom, you need to come see". When we got them settled down and Gavin was sooo excited to put it under his pillow, Nash said he was scared to sleep. When Jeff asked him why, Nash replied, "I don't want the tooth fairy to touch me while I am sleeping". Jeff told him he could sleep in our room and then Gavin replied, "I don't want to sleep alone when the tooth fairy comes". So both boys ended up sleeping on the floor of our room, safe and sound. I guess they felt Jeff and I could take on the tooth fairy if she tried something crazy! Glad our kids have faith in us.

As for this little "big" guy

Nash was so excited to go to school today. When I took him to class, I gave him a big hug and he went in and never turned around. I am so proud of him, yet deep down inside, I do wish he would miss me.

Tofu-shi

This is a must try quick and healthy snack. All you need is a container of soft silken tofu, a package of Trader Joe's Roasted Seaweed Snack and soy sauce. Drain water from tofu, slice in half lengthwise and then slice across the width so you end with small squares. Wrap them in a piece of seaweed and dip into soy sauce. Sounds crazy but yummy!

The kids love it!

{don't let that face fool you, she's learning to smile for the camera}
